Our Florida Trip

Here's how it all went! We had fun!
Left at 3:20am June 25th drove 15hrs until we hit Florida.....Lake City is where we stayed. Kaylee was AWESOME, PREFECT, WONDERFUL need I say more. She did wonderful in the car all that time. Of course we stopped a few times to eat and potty brakes but mostly DROVE.
June 26th we left the hotel around 9ish and got to my grandma's around 2-3pm that afternoon in Stewart, Florida. Again Kaylee was wonderful and such a trooper.
During all the driving she barely pee'd in her pulled up and ALMOST ALWAYS made it to a rest stop to potty or poo if needed! We are so very proud of her!

We got there on Friday, relaxed for a bit and then headed down to the park to see if we could see any wildlife and to let little sweetie run around and get those poor legs stretched! Kaylee headed straight for the sand and looking for seashells(which she brought home a ton of) She loved walking in the sand and ocean and just exploring! In just a short while we got to see about 4 dolphins which was really neat! I love dolphin and out of 3 prior trips south this is the first time Jason and I have saw them out in the ocean in the wild! You could definitely tell we were tourist! hahahaha Through out our trip we went back a few times to the park and even caught a glimpse of a manatee. We saw lots of birds which we like alot also, they are all so pretty....my favorite if pelicans.....Jason is about all of them!
Saturday we headed to Dubious Beach and OMG was it beautiful! It is right off the ocean sort of like a bay. It was perfect for Kaylee! She was able to walk and play without us needing to hold her through out the entire beach. There was only a few places that were too deep for her. She loved getting on the boogie board and being pulled around and she like to just pull it around herself! She had a blast in the sand and of course LOVED being in the water! I had a few fears but I got over them and finally got wet! hahaha While there Jason was taking pics and spotted a manatee coming in from the ocean side. If I was a chicken I would have made it to swim next to it but my butt wouldn't get in the ocean. It was neat though.
Sunday we just relaxed but really should've been out at the beach, little did we know rain was moving in and we weren't going to get much good weather after Monday. We did go to Juno Beach and it was very neat and pretty! We didn't make it in time for Kaylee to play in the splash area but did get the walk to board walk..........sooooo neat! The view is just beautiful about everywhere there and we even spotted a stingray in the shallow area under the boardwalk! We didn't swim but did walk to beach.......I love walking the beach, barefoot and slightly in the ocean!
Monday the three of us and my mom went to Lion Country Safari. Its a drive through zoo, which has most of the animals just running around. The lions have a fence around them now because silly people were getting out of their car. The last time Jason and I were there it was ALL open and the lions were jut laying next to the driving area, sooo neat! After we did the drive part we went into the walking part. Unfortunately shortly after getting out of the car it started raining and I mean sheets of rain, so we just drove through the zoo again. It was really neat this time cause the animals were cooled off and moving more and close to see. We went back into walk through part and Kaylee got to feed the giraffe........it was soooo neat and we weren't rushed like you are here in Indy Zoo! We walked around fed some birds, fish, turtle and saw a few more things and then headed back to grandma's!
Tuesday Jason and I headed down Key Largo for snorkeling, Kaylee hung out with her grandparents for the day and night. We got down to Key Largo around 4ish booked out sunset snorkeling trip and here came freaking rain! BLAH So that trip was cancelled but we drove further down where to sun was shining and there was no rain! We swam a bit at a beach but mostly just looked at the view! We back to the hotel and we had dinner and a couple drinks.....very nice! I found I LOVE the Hurr O Cane...ummmmm
Wednesday morning we got up and thank god the rain held off and we got to do the morning snorkeling trip. The coral was so awesome but we didn't see much just a few fish....still neat! Our first time in 04 it was sunny, crystal clear water and we saw tons of different fish and such! Gotta love that first timers luck! I think if it hadn't rained so much it would have been much better! So after we got back we headed back to our Kaylee! I soooo wish we could have experienced that trip with her but she's a bit little for snorkeling! hehe There was a 2.5yr old out there but he didn't like it and we are thinking the same for Kaylee! Some day though.
We get back Wed afternoon and take off to Juno Beach so Kaylee can play! They have this neat spray area and Kaylee really liked it.....I'm so glad we went back here so she could play! And we walked the boardwalk again and saw that stingray again! I love stingray! About an hour after being there the rain came.......ugh! This is when we started thinking of coming home! hahaha
Thursday we got our butts up earlier and headed to Stewart Beach for Kaylee to actually swim in the Ocean side inside of a bay. I was nervous of course, terrified of the ocean and the unknown! hahaha It was beautiful out this morning, I love seeing the sparkle off the ocean and the endless water for miles and miles! Kaylee was a little skittish at first but very quickly warmed up to the waves at the shore........and had a complete BLAST! The girl has no fear and would just take off right in and wanted to go as deep as she could which was up to hear neck! Its an awesome beach also and not very deep until you get quite some way out. Jason has no fear either of the ocean so I was left in water to my ankle until I sucked it up and went in! And no I don't get use to ocean and become unscared of it! hahaha Every time I get in the ocean I freak for a bit until I can relax myself and overcome my fear for that time! Anyway, we had a blast. Jason and I love seeing the excited on Kaylee's face, it just makes us so happy to know she is happy. One of the best feelings as a parent!
Friday, due to being home sick and quite of bit of rain we decided to head home! We had a wonderful time but Florida was getting some rain and not your typical Florida showers! lol So we took off around 8:20am and drove and drove! Again Kaylee was wonderful! My mom was with us on the way home, she drove to Florida with my grandparents after our grandma's funeral. She helped drive and keep Kaylee entertained if needed. We finally made it to Tennessee around 8ish and got a hotel for the night! That was an experience....my mom snores like a lion roars! lol I have no clue how Kaylee slept in bed with her! hahaha Jason and I got hardly any sleep. But we made it and took off and made it home about 2ish Saturday July 4th, we got to watch our hometown fireworks after all the rain that we brought home with us! hahaha

We had a great time and thank my grandma and Richard so much for having us stay! We are hoping to maybe go back next year or maybe to Utah. I would love to go somewhere special and renew our wedding vows next August........10yrs of complete love it will be!!

Pictures to come if you haven't saw them on facebook yet!

Summer Fun in the Sun!

O Finally its pool time or should I say warm enough for it! Kaylee has always loved her pool and this year is no different! These shots were taken when we could keep a swim suit on her.......most of the time she strips butt naked and jumps in! lol She loves for the dogs to get in with her too and says "get in Max/Emit now". (we try to keep them out but they both love water and it use to be their pool) Kaylee does not like splash pads or sprinklers AT ALL and really never has. Today for fathers day we went to the YMCA on a free pass and had a great time swimming! She is a bit daring for mommy sometimes as she wants us to let her go so "she can swim" but she doesn't know how too! hahaha She loves to jump in to us and to climb in on the side all by herself.....lil miss independent. The outside was a bit chilly for mommy and daddy so we went inside to the heated pool and had a blast too! She was able to have more freedom to explore how the water works too and learned a few times that you can't really run in the water! But she did great though and caught on pretty quick to close her mouth as she was going under.

I think our next move will be swimming lessons maybe or maybe we'll wait another year....not sure yet!

My first Fishing trip

A couple weeks ago we took Kaylee fishing, it was so cute! She'd been asking to go since she hears Daddy and I talk about it so we got her a cute lil fishing pole and off we went! She actually loved it, of course she was ready to run around after about 15min or so but we thought she did very good for being 21/2. She liked watching her bobber go under but didn't catch anything this time! Her favorite was the minnows and night crawlers. She said they were soooo cute and cuddly and carried one of each around for about an hour! hahaha She was even so sweet to let some of the minnows go..........hahaha It was such a fun experience for all of us, I can't wait to go again!

AWWWW cute lil minnow!

New Pics!

Just some thoughts!

AWWWWW the joys of being a mommy......its amazing! Kaylee is blossoming into a wonderful, smart, vibrant little girl! She talks to us like she is 16 already, is trying the potty training thing again(at her will) and just being sweet and rotten!
Its so hard to believe that our lil girl will be 3 in just a few months, I just believe how amazing parenthood has been and just how fast its going. Why can't our babies stay babies for a couple years at each age! Its wonderful watching her grow but bittersweet to know we can't ever get these times back!

Jason's job has now moved to town so he is only 5min away, comes home for lunch and is home by 3:45 now............its SOOOOOO wonderful! And the best part is he is safer now....ugh the east side of Indy is NUTS!

Kaylee is going potty here and there! Some days she just does what she needs to and others she decides she doesn't want to! Can we say HARDHEADED! lol I'm down stressing over it, I want her to enjoy being a big girl at the potty not make it a choir or something stressful for her! :)
She says some of the most amazing things and we have to start writing them down so we can remember all of it and tell her later! Really there is so much to say about Kaylee but it would take a very long time to type it all out!

As for me, just loving being a mommy and wife! I'm off right now for the summer but come August I'll have Kaylee, Devyn and Caleb(devyns baby brother)! I'm very excited but whew nervous too! LOL I know once I get into the grove of three lil ones it will be just fine though! I've come to terms with my great grandmas passing it was just a shock at first, I know she is with the lord and loved ones and happy!

I will post some pics of Kaylee soon, we love our new camera and can't stop taking pics! The 25th we leave for Florida and I know we will have hundreds of pic then! LOL Kaylee's first time in Florida and I know its going to be a blast! But how will the drive be..............stay tuned and I'll let ya know! hahahaha

WIth Love to a Great Grandma and Great Great Grandma

Sunday May 31, my great grandma and Kaylee's great great grandma passes away. My wonderful vibrant grandma was 94yrs young and let me tell you full of life until the very day she was called to leave us! I was so blessed to have my grandma for 29yrs of my life. The memories I have are such wonderful ones and will last the rest of my time here!
I thank god that she was able to meet her great great granddaughters.....Kaylee and my niece Kegan! Kaylee loved her grandma wiggins(as she called her)and every time we'd get close to grandma's she'd ask "we go to grandma's and get candy"! That comment from her will always remind me of my childhood with my grandma as grandma ALWAYS had candy! My grandma always made it clear how she was blessed and loved all of her family but the truth is we were even more blessed to have her and her love in our lifes! She was the rock of our family but now she will be our angel!
Its so hard to think I will never hear her sweet voice or see that wonderful smile of hers! I will never see that lil old lady driving her lil car around like she was in her 20's! hahaha She honestly gave me so much joy just to think of her. I loved her so very much!

We love you grandma and your will be very missed!

Train Ride

We had a wonderful time at the Cincinnati Zoo this past weekend! Kaylee did wonderful on the drive there and pretty good coming home!
It is an awesome zoo and 100x better than Indy Zoo but O well! We got to pet different animals early in the day, watch a Silver back gorilla bang on the feeding door(he was huge), see other primate(one of our favorite attractions anywhere) see polar bears up close and so much more. We can't wait for our next trip......Florida!!

Kaylee was so excited to ride the train...she loves trains!
